A new driverless bullet train has been put on the tracks in China in time for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, which started on February 4, 2022. The train travels at a speed of 349kms/hr and can carry 564 passengers per trip in its eight carriages. It takes 50 minutes to travel from Beijing’s downtown districts to the Olympics venues in Zhangjiakou. The train is custom-made and equipped with a 5G-linked broadcast studio, which journalists can use to broadcast, and special lockers for athletes to stow their ski equipment.
