While looking out the window,
I caught a glimpse of her hair.
Her laughter I heard,
So free from despair.
I rush to catch her,
But she’s walking away.
Why do you run from me?
Dear, childhood days.
Where birds did sing songs of bloom,
And flowers did listen to their endless tunes.
Why did you leave me ever soon?
The wind is blowing,
Her smile is glowing.
Why won’t you take me back,
To those wonderous days?
Alas that time is lost forever,
And far, she has gotten away.
With the breeze they float, coming back never.
My dear beloved, childhood days.
