Lakshadweep’s Department of Education has decided to convert all its schools to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) English medium from the academic year 2024-2025. This transition aims to enhance the standard of education in the union territory and provide students with skills that are vital for their future careers. Three languages, Malayalam, Hindi and English, will be offered to students from classes 1 to 12 as per the new national education guidelines. Heads of all schools have been instructed to plan resources and take all the steps necessary for the transition.
