Captain Monica Khanna safely landed a Patna-Delhi SpiceJet flight after the plane caught fire soon after take-off on June 19. The SpiceJet Boeing 737 that took off from Patna airport had to make an emergency landing due to a technical glitch in one of the plane’s engines, caused by a bird hit. Khanna, who was the pilot in command, switched off the affected engine and landed the aircraft safely at Patna airport along with First Officer Balpreet Singh Bhatia. All the 185 passengers on board were safe. Khanna is a highly qualified pilot and joined SpiceJet in 2018.
