Students of government schools in Telangana will be given breakfast from October 24 onwards under the ‘Chief Minster’s Breakfast Scheme’. The Telangana government decided to introduce this scheme with the goal of providing students with nutritious food and enhancing their academic performance. The scheme also aims at addressing the difficulties faced by labourers who may be unable to provide their children with breakfast because they leave for work early in the morning. The new scheme will cost the government ₹400 crore annually and students from classes 1 to 10 will receive breakfast under the scheme.
