Ivy’s Quest: Unmasking Secrets and Finding Courage

Novel: Scarlet and Ivy by Sophie Cleary

In the novel, I really like how Ivy stood up against the school authorities and found her lost twin who was allegedly declared dead by a mysterious disease.
Ivy is a 12-year-old girl, who was curious and brave, but was made to be insecure. She had to pretend to be her twin sister at school. Her determination to find her lost sister and pushing beyond her limits showed how caring she was.

She really inspired me. She faced her fears and stood up against the one she feared the most, the headmaster. Dealing with suspects in a specific way became her habitual routine in that dreaded Rookwood School.

Ivy eventually metamorphosed into a courageous girl, unlike her twin who ended up being very disobedient. By the end of the novel, she developed a sense of her true self: formidable strength she possessed, ready to fight for whatever she desired.
