Australia has opened up its borders for tourists after almost two years. The borders are open only to fully vaccinated tourists and all visa holders. Unvaccinated travellers who have a medical reason for not taking the vaccine will have to apply for a travel exemption and will require to be quarantined at a hotel. The borders have been partially open since November 2021, but only to immediate family members and skilled migrants. The country has had some of the world’s strictest border controls since the COVID-19 pandemic started. The reopening of the borders brought cheer to many students who are looking to pursue higher studies in Australia.
