A National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) astronaut of Indian origin named Anil Menon is part of an eight-month mission to the International Space Station (ISS). Menon is an engineer and physician and also has experience with the US Air Force. His background in medicine and aviation is expected to aid him as an Expedition 75 crew member. During the mission, he is expected to carry out various studies, including studying the effects of microgravity on human physiology. These studies are expected to help astronauts and scientists devise systems that will support future space missions. Menon is highly experienced in emergency medicine and has assisted during several disasters, including earthquakes. His experience also includes serving as a flight surgeon with aerospace company SpaceX and NASA.
