Amritpal Singh Maan is a London-based Indian-origin philanthropist who has provided for more than 2,00,000 meals during the COVID-19 pandemic. In recognition of his services to charity and the community, he has been awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE). He is among those honoured by the Queen of England in the New Year Honours List of 2022. Maan is better known as the managing director of Punjab Restaurant in Covent Garden, London, which was established in 1946 by his great-grandfather. This was UK’s first-ever Punjabi restaurant.
