Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan was awarded the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award 2024 for his outstanding work in the Indian film industry. The veteran actor received the award at an event in Mumbai on April 24. Established in memory of the prominent Indian singer and Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar, the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award recognises an individual’s extraordinary contributions to India and Indian society. Bachchan has been an important part of the Indian film industry. In his career spanning over 50 years, he has acted in more than 200 movies and appeared in numerous advertisements. He is well-known for his roles in movies such as ‘Sholay’, ‘Abhimaan’ and ‘Don’ and for hosting the Hindi television game show, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.
