- To help farmers work better, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare (MoAFW) sent them weather updates through SMS. This was done using the m-Kisan platform, which shared important information directly with farmers.
- With the help of artificial intelligence (AI), farmers received reliable monsoon forecasts that addressed their requirements, helping them decide their agricultural schedules related to ploughing, sowing and harvesting.
- More than 3 crore farmers in 13 Indian states received these forecasts around a month before the rains.
- This initiative updated farmers about weather patterns, including the temporary break in rainfall.
