Delhi’s government schools will carry out activities to eliminate single-use plastic (SUP) and encourage waste management. A pledge will also be taken and weekly lectures will be conducted to raise awareness about the importance of eliminating SUP. Schools have been instructed to set up a special room called ‘bartan bhandar’ where reusable utensils such as those made from steel and glass will be stored. Students will be able to use items from this room at small functions and festivals.
