Aruna Miller has become the first Indian American politician to be sworn in as the lieutenant governor of Maryland, USA.

Aruna Miller has become the first Indian American politician to be sworn in as the lieutenant governor of Maryland, USA. 58-year-old Miller was born in Andhra Pradesh before she migrated to the US with her parents at the age of seven years. Miller graduated from the Missouri University of Science and Technology with a degree in civil engineering in 1989. She worked at the local department of transportation in Montgomery County for 25 years, where she helped better road and traffic conditions and improve the safety of the public.
