Oh, what has occurred at this horrible river!
At this sight, I quiver.
A bloody massacre,
Men lay agony cursing their attacker.
The river red with blood,
Bodies causing a flood.
Hundreds lay beneath completely still,
There’s Santos and here’s McGill.
The first to fall,
Turning a squabble to a brawl.
Shots were fired, punches were blown,
Swords slashed and grenades were thrown.
They fought from dawn to dusk,
All for some elephant tusks.
All but one perished, in the water he shivered.
Oh, what has occurred at this horrible river!
