Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin has taken charge as the Pune Armed Forces Medical College director. She was commissioned into the Armed Forces Medical Services on December 26, 1985. She is one of a handful of cadets to have two post-graduate degrees. She has also been trained in gamma knife surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, USA. During her career of 37 years, she has been awarded the Chief of Naval Staff Commendation in 2001, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Commendation in 2013, the Chief of Army Staff Commendation in 2017 and the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2021.
