A US-based company called Shift Robotics has created shoes that reach a top speed of 11kms/hr, increasing average walking speed by 250%. Called Moonwalkers, these battery-powered shoes resemble skates and can be strapped onto the feet. They have eight rollerblade wheels that are powered by an electric motor of 300 watts. The shoes come with a wheel-locking feature that can be used while climbing stairs. They also have a brake distance of 2ft on a dry road. The shoes cost a little more than ₹1 lakh.
