To raise awareness about security in the digital space, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) ordered its schools to take a course on cyber safety known as the Cyber Hygiene Certificate Course. This is part of an effort by the home minister’s Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) to educate parents, students and teachers on digital risks and cyber hygiene. According to officials, the 2.5-hour course enhances participants’ knowledge on cyber fraud and protection of data, helping them exercise caution in the digital world. CBSE has also urged schools to conduct engaging programmes and activities focussed on cybersecurity that help students make responsible use of the internet.
