Scientists from Japan have found invisible gold in an underwater volcano located off Japan’s coast. This gold was found in the form of extremely tiny structures that are invisible to the naked eye. The gold was discovered within materials produced due to hydrothermal vent activity. The scientists who conducted this study discovered the presence of gold in a mineral known as pyrite. They believe the pyrite contains higher quantities of gold than all other recorded places on Earth. However, extracting this gold is difficult and could have major environmental impacts.
