- Various places across India such as Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and Shivaji Park in Mumbai became the sites of massive protests as thousands of students and young Indians protested over repeated examination paper leaks and concerns about India’s education system.
- The demonstrations, supported by activist and educator Sonam Wangchuk, called for greater accountability towards young Indians’ future and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
- The protests turned tense after clashes with police, with reports of baton charges, tear gas, injuries, hospitalisations and detentions.
- On July 21, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the Centre and states to work together to prevent paper leaks.
