An aeronautical engineer and entrepreneur named Anand Megalingam from Chennai founded Space Zone India, an organisation that offers affordable services in the space sector. Space Zone India achieved a historic milestone in 2024 by launching India’s first hybrid rocket that is reusable. To facilitate the launch of the rocket, named Rhumi-1, a mobile launch pad was used. Though Space Zone India encountered numerous financial hurdles along the way, it has emerged as one of the key players in the Indian space sector and now receives considerable financial assistance from the central government and other organisations.
