  • Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled India’s Union Budget for 2025-2026 on February 1. The budget includes reforms across various spheres including infrastructure, education, agriculture and taxation.
  • The budget is designed to boost India’s growth and development by dedicating efforts towards exports, investments, agriculture and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
  • Among the main highlights of the budget is the elevation of the income tax limit to ₹12 lakh, facilitating more savings. The government has also come up with numerous initiatives that support farmers including the Prime Minister Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana 2025 that aims to improve agricultural productivity.
  • The government has planned various educational initiatives including creating Atal Tinkering Labs in government schools.
