To make textbooks more accessible cost-wise, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has decided to decrease textbook prices for classes 9 to 12. As per the new move, the prices of textbooks will be reduced by 20% from the 2026-2027 academic year, lowering academic expenses. NCERT was able to make this change by employing updated printing techniques and enhancing the procurement of paper. Additionally, the organisation has collaborated with Amazon and Flipkart to enable a wide availability of books across India.
