Dr Jaiteerth Joshi, a well-known missile scientist, has taken charge as the chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director (MD) of BrahMos Aerospace, a joint venture between Russia and India that is dedicated to the development of supersonic cruise missiles. Joshi, who has over three decades of experience in the field, has contributed significantly to India’s missile development efforts and has also conducted training in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods. Joshi was previously instrumental in the development of the Agni and Prithvi missile systems and has also served as the chairman of the Indian Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ISNT). He is an alumnus of Osmania University and acquired a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in mechanical engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal. He has been honoured with numerous awards including the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Scientist of the Year Award.
