The Ministry of External Affairs has appointed Dinesh Bhatia, a 1992-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, as India’s next ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil. Before being selected for this new role, Bhatia was India’s ambassador to the Republic of Argentina. He has served in various other positions during his career including as India’s ambassador to Guinea and Cote d’Ivoire. His professional experience encompasses being part of Indian missions in Kuwait and Madrid and holding the position of consul general in Toronto. Bhatia, who acquired a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi, was also previously associated with the Department of Atomic Energy.
