To improve access to space research, a startup named TakeMe2Space based in Hyderabad has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) laboratory in space. The laboratory, called Orbital Infrastructure-Technology Demonstrator (MOI-TD), was placed in orbit by the Indian Space Research Organisation’s PSLV C60 rocket.
This initiative intends to overcome the shortcomings of satellites in space by employing cutting-edge technology to enable in-orbit data processing.
Though satellites produce extensive data, numerous environmental and atmospheric elements tend to influence the data, making it inaccurate and unusable. Furthermore, transmitting this data to Earth is time-consuming.
MOI-TD will increase data transmission efficiency and speed and decrease costs.
