The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), a society that works towards protecting the Ganga River, has planned to launch a dolphin ambulance. This initiative will facilitate the rescue of distressed and injured dolphins with the help of a special vehicle, protecting the biodiversity of India’s sacred river, Ganga. Called Advancing Rescue System for the Protection of Stranded Ganges River Dolphins, this project aims to ensure that endangered Ganges River dolphins receive timely treatment and care. This project, costing around 1 crore, will also educate and guide the public about dolphin conservation.
