It was a cold morning in a beautiful town. Karen was in her shop. She ran a grocery shop selling vegetables and fruits. She had owned the shop for 5 years. Karen was a middle-aged woman with short hair and a beautiful face, but she was not friendly. She didn’t give anything to anyone. Her behavior was poor towards her customers.
In the morning, when she was busy in her shop, an old lady and her dog came. The old lady looked quite poor and she was wearing dirty clothes. It seemed that both the dog and the lady had not taken a bath for several days too. The old lady asked, “My dog, Judo, has been very hungry for some days. Could you please give him something to eat?”
“Yes, please wait here,” Karen replied with a smile. But when she went to take something in the shop she thought “Why should I give the fresh vegetables/fruits to that poor lady’s dog? I would rather sell this to someone who will pay money.” When she looked around she saw some stale carrots. She was about to throw it away as it looked very dry. “Yes, it would be better to give it to that poor dog,” she said to herself. She took the carrot and gave it to the dog. The dog was very hungry, so he took the carrot and tried to eat it. When he ate the stale and dry carrot, it got stuck in his throat and he started choking. When the lady saw this, she tried to remove the carrot from the dog’s throat. Then she moved towards Karen. “What did you give to my Judo?” The lady asked. “Why should I give him fresh vegetables or fruits? I know you are poor and you might not pay me for this.” Karen said with a loud voice.
When the old lady heard it, she suddenly changed into a beautiful fairy. She looked like a young woman with long hair and had a magical stick in her left hand. She wore a pink Shining frock. She looked so beautiful that Karen watched her with an open mouth. “Ohh! Ohh.. ! my goodness, I am so sorry, I really didn’t know that it was you. ” Karen said with a surprised face. While Karen was saying this, the fairy changed her into a dog with her magical stick. The fairy said, “You are a greedy woman. You did not even give a small carrot to my Judo. You will remain a dog until someone is kind to you.” The beautiful fairy said before disappearing.
Time passed, and one day when a dog was searching for food, a little girl came. She had bread in her hand. She went closer to the dog and fed the bread to it. When the dog ate, She changed back into the old Karen. Karen thanked the little girl and went back home. Now, she had realized what she had done and what she needed to do. She reopened the shop. She put a bowl of water and dog biscuits for dogs in her shop. She started to help others, and whenever a customer came to the shop, she talked to them very politely and with a happy face.
