Chida’s Lesson

Thashwika Cheerapureddy, Class 8, The Crossword School, Guntur

Chida is a little myna with memorable moments. One day when she was flying in the sky, she saw some birds chirping furiously. She went to the power line they were sitting on, and inquired, “What are you discussing so furiously?”
A red bird replied, “We are talking about humans. They are throwing stones at us. They are ruining our nests. They are also hunting us.”
Chida thought for a moment. She said, “No, no! You’re extremely wrong. Some people are very kind. When I was a little chick, I didn’t know how to fly. I jumped out of the nest, and couldn’t get back to my siblings. I lost my way.” All the birds on the power line were listening with keep attention.
Chida continued, “then some crows came to attack me. But fortunately, a boy named Ayansh came to my rescue. I was injured, so he took me to his home and wrapped my leg with a band-aid and applied some medicine. He fed me day and night. In a few days, I was cured. Then he let me outside. I flew without any pain. I still visit Ayansh from time to time.”
Hearing this, the birds said, “Oh, we completely misunderstood humans. Not every human is bad. There are some good humans too.”
