New Zealand defeated South Africa by 32 runs to win the 2024 International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s Twenty20 (T20) World Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, UAE, on October 20.
New Zealand’s Brooke Halliday and Amelia Kerr contributed significantly to their team’s victory by scoring 38 and 43 runs, respectively, in the final match. Kerr was named both player of the match and player of the tournament.
With 223 runs in six innings, South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt was the tournament’s highest run scorer.
During the tournament, India’s Harmanpreet Kaur became the third player to reach the 3,500-career-runs mark after Suzie Bates of New Zealand and Smriti Mandhana of India.
