The world’s tallest bamboo tower, measuring 140ft in height, was inaugurated virtually by Nitin Gadkari, the union minister of road transport and highways, on the occasion of World Bamboo Day.
The tower, built by Bhavya Srishti Udyog in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district, can serve a variety of purposes, from being used as a telecom tower to functioning as a watch tower.
It has been constructed at a cost of `11 lakh and can last for at least 25 years. It weighs 7,400kgs and can be moved from one location to another with ease.
On the occasion, Gadkari highlighted the value of bamboo as a resource and promoted its use across different industries such as energy and construction.
