One rainy day
On my window sill
Alighted a little bird
Heart full of kindness
Affection and brightness
Its body gleaming with vibrance
Eyes shining with innocence
A voice so sweet
To my ears oh! such a treat
Feathers fluffy, blue and wet
A tiny beak with a hue of red
It twittered and skipped
Its crest it flicked
It chirped and blinked
And danced and winked
With a last twitter and a skitter
It flew away that night of winter
It was a bird, so enchanting
Certainly one from heaven.
