Sudha Devadas, a 51-year-old panchayat member from Kerala’s Thrissur, created history by becoming the first female drone pilot in Kerala. Devadas, who was one of the 49 women that underwent a drone training programme in Chennai, makes use of drones for agricultural operations. She is also a community resource person of the Kerala government’s women’s empowerment and poverty elimination programme called Kudumbashree. As part of this programme, she provides people training in different fields including gender equity. She believes that women should chase their dreams and strive to become financially independent.
