  • India bagged 29 medals including seven gold, 13 bronze and nine silver medals at the Paris Paralympics 2024 held in Paris, France. 
  • Placing 18th in the medal tally, India bagged golds in badminton, rifle shooting, javelin throw, archery, high jump and club throw events. 
  • Kapil Parmar bagged a bronze medal in the men’s 60kg J1 class of judo, India’s first Paralympic medal in the sport. 
  • Avani Lekhara created history by becoming the first Indian woman to bag two golds in the women’s 10mt air rifle standing SH1 shooting event at the games. 
  • Para-archer Sheetal Devi bagged a bronze in the mixed team compound archery competition, making her India’s youngest Paralympic medallist. 
  • Sumit Antil made history as the first Indian man to defend his title at the Paralympics, winning gold in the men’s javelin throw F64 with a throw of 70.59mts, a new Paralympic record.
