To improve the facilities in schools operated by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the governing body has replaced more than 12,000 traditional black chalkboards with whiteboards. This initiative costing nearly ₹41.5 crore aims to enhance infrastructure in schools. Along with the whiteboards, the schools have also been provided with whiteboard dusters, markers and erasers. According to the MCD, the use of whiteboards will eliminate the generation of dangerous chalk dust. Additionally, they are easier to clean as compared to blackboards.
