Civilisations of Mesopotamia

The name Mesopotamia translates to ‘the land between rivers’. It refers to an area in the Middle East located near the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. It is located in modern-day Iraq with portions of it in southwestern Iran, Turkey and northeastern Syria.
