81-year-old Breaks World Record for Oldest Train Operator

Helen Antenucci, an 81-year-old woman working with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), USA, has been recognised as the oldest train operator in the world by the Guinness World Records.

Helen Antenucci, an 81-year-old woman working with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), USA, has been recognised as the oldest train operator in the world by the Guinness World Records. Antenucci has been driving trains on MBTA’s Blue Line since 1995 and doesn’t plan to retire anytime soon. She enjoys transporting people to their destinations daily. When Antenucci began her career, she was among very few female train drivers. She received her initial training in the train yard before she began driving passenger trains.
