A 17-year-old girl from Mumbai named Kaamya Karthikeyan achieved a historic feat by successfully scaling the highest peaks on each of the seven continents. This accomplishment makes her the world’s youngest female to achieve the feat. Kaamya, who studies at the Navy Children School in Mumbai, began this challenge called the Seven Summits Challenge by scaling Africa’s Mount Kilimanjaro. Subsequently, she went on to conquer the highest mountains on each of the continents including Asia’s Mount Everest and Australia’s Mount Kosciuszko. Finally, she concluded the arduous challenge by conquering Antarctica’s Mount Vinson in December.
