Aidan Grainger, a 16-year-old student at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy, UK, set a record for solving the Megaminx, a 12-sided puzzle, in 31.4 seconds. Aidan achieved this feat in the official World Cube Association competition in which more than 2,00,000 speedcubers participated. A Megaminx has 50 movable parts that have to be rearranged in a manner that is similar to a Rubik’s Cube, which has 20 such parts. Aidan’s achievement made him the world’s ninth fastest Megaminx player.
