As per orders by the District Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has banned 11 foreign dog breeds. The dog breeds banned with effect from November 15 are American Pit Bull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, American Bulldog, Presa Canario, Rottweiller, Boerboel, Cane Corso, Wolfdog, Neapolitian Mastiff, Fila Brasileiro and Bandog. This decision was taken after multiple attacks were reported in the city. The MCG was ordered to cancel all the licences provided to pet owners for keeping the banned breeds and all the banned breeds were taken into custody. The forum also ordered owners of pet dogs to carry poop scoops and bags so that public places are not messed up by their pets.
